I sculpt the flowers that I make individually by hand, petal by petal. When I make roses I try for realism rather than perfection, so you may see slight imperfections in the petals, a small crack at the edge of a petal just like a real flower, etc. I learned to sculpt flowers long ago when I lived in Italy, in the city of Naples there are a group of artisans in the area of town called Capodimonte and I used to travel up there and just watch the artists making the flowers, they made it look so easy!!! I found out when I returned to the U.S.A. and attempted to make my own flowers, it is much, much more difficult than I thought, and it took me literally a year of trial and error before I was making acceptable looking flowers. This lovely rose is made from a black clay high in manganese (I was told) which gives it a rich black color, no paint. Same with the leaves. The cup is an antique cut glass cup and I just noticed has some tiny flea bite chips along the rim, so small I didn't even notice when I bought it. I will be shipping these parts separate to ensure they arrive safely, you can put them together loose or glue them as you see fit. This flower in the cup is about 4 inches tall and about 4 inches across the diameter.

Check my other postings, I am a professional artist and everything I make is handmade, no molds except for veining on petals or leaves. Check back from time to time, I'll be posting a lot more flowers, arrangements, etc. If there are certain flowers, or a bouquet, or something you would like made please let me know, the more detail the better, photos are helpful. I can make almost any type of flower!
