Product Description

These dreadlocks have been created using a combination of backcombing and twisting. Whilst the twist is evident, the backcomb texturises the dreadlock. If you love the dreaded look but also love to change your style often and don't want the long term commitment of real dreads, then these are for you! And if it is important to you that your extensions look exactly like real dreadlocks then you may wish to consider our Crocheted Dreads also available in our eBay store.

INCLUSIONS: 30 individual extensions.

SIZE: 50cm long (20inches), Approx 8-10mm Wide.

Please note that as these are handmade, there may be small variations to the width.

MATERIAL: High quality Kanekalon (synthetic) hair

COLOUR: Choose a colour from the drop down box. If you select Blend, please leave a comment with which colours you want and how many of each.

Installation (Undreaded Hair)

The extensions are installed by pushing a section of your own hair through the loop at the top. Move the dread up to your scalp then plait them in place and secure with thread or a rubber band. Our Heavy Duty Pro Elastic is the perfect band to secure the dread as they are strong and durable yet still tiny.

Installation (Existing Dreadlocks)

It is recommended that the Crocheted Extensions are used if you want to add length to existing dreads as they are a better quality and exactly match that of natural dreads. If however you just want to add more volume / length by installing the extensions at the scalp then this can be done by sliding an existing dread through the loop at the top of the extension. Move the extension up to your scalp and secure it in place with a pro elastic or piece of thread.

More Info

THE LOOK: These extensions are made with both a backcomb and twist method. Whilst the twist is still evident, the backcombing does texturise the hair. If having the extensions look exactly like real, natural dreadlocks is important to you, then you may want to consider our Crocheted extensions. The Synthetic Crocheted Extension can also be braided into undreaded hair.

HOW MANY EXTENSIONS WILL I NEED? As they are braided into sections of your own hair which are usually 2-3cm's squared at the scalp, how many you need really depends on how big your head is. On average 50 is about right but if you want a lot of volume you could make the sections smaller and likewise, if you wanted less volume then you could use bigger sections of hair.

CARE: Our extensions will last indefinitely and just like real dreads, some maintenance may be required from time to time. As they are braided into sections of your own hair, as your own hair grows out, every 6-12 weeks they will need to be removed and reinstalled. The extension can be re-tightened and re-twisted using steam in conjunction with a hair straightener. Take care in doing so and refer to our website for comprehensive installation and care instructions.

When shampooing, focus on just your scalp and massage the shampoo in gently while handling the dreadlocks with care, then rinse out. Pat your scalp dry then careful wrap your extensions in a towel to squeeze out excess water.
