ORIGINAL ONE OF A KIND HAND SCULPTED CLOTH AND CLAY DOLL

EDOM

Edom is an original, one of a kind folk art doll. His face is hand sculpted with paper clay, and intricately painted and antiqued to look vintage. He is styled to mimic dolls from the Civil War era. His outfit is created specifically for him out of antiqued and vintage linens. His bag is filled with handmade newspaper clippings speaking about Abolition, and he is carrying a small Bible with hand-written verses inside. He also carries a quill pen and scarp paper as he practices writing. Edom is teaching himself to read and write in secret so that he can experience the liberty of knowledge that literacy brings. His hair is hand-sewn sheep's wool and his shoes are painted onto sand-filled cloth feet. The soles of his shoes are mustard seeds, because:

"If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed...nothing shall be impossible unto you."
Matt 17:20

Edom is 22" tall from the top of his head to the tips of his work-worn boots.
His shoulders are about 5" wide.

Edom is carrying a handmade bag filled with all sorts of essentials for learning to read and write. Everything in his pack can be taken out and looked at. His Bible can be read. It is handmade of leather, with hand-stamped "H.B." on the cover for "Holy Bible"

When you purchase Edom, you are getting a doll that can never be re-created. He is truly a unique creation!

Each doll Little Sisters Studio creates comes with a hand made tag (see pictures) that has the dolls name, and a story taken from history.
