Interlux ACT Ablative Antifouling Bottom PainttACT uses Ablative Technology to provide excellent season-to-season protection. Ablative Technology enables it to wear away with use and eliminates the build-up of old spent coatings and the heavy sanding needed to remove them. ACT is very effective at controlling shell fouling such as barnacles and zebra mussels and contains a Slime Fighter to control weed, slime and algae growth which helps to keep the boat bottom cleaner longer. It provides excellent protection against all forms of marine fouling in waters with moderate to heavy fouling and can be used in fresh, salt and brackish waters. Remove sanding residue.Previously Painted Surface Poor Condition Completely remove all old antifouling paint using Interstrip 299E for fiberglass and wood, and by sandblasting to near white metal for steel.Bare Fiberglass Remove mold release wax using Fiberglass Surface Prep YMA601V following the product label instructions. Fill any surface imperfections with Interlux Watertite following the label instructions. Bare Fiberglass No Sanding System Clean the surface following the preparation procedure above. Apply one coat of Interlux Interprotect 2000E or Fiberglass No-Sand Primer. Follow the instructions on the label or product data sheet of the primer used. Following overcoating guidelines for the primer, apply at least two coats of ACT, allowing appropriate dry times. Bare Fiberglass Sanding System Clean the surface following the preparation procedure above. Sand with 80-grit paper. Remove sanding residue. Apply at least two coats of ACT, allowing appropriate dry times. Bare Fiberglass Blister Prevention System Clean the surface following the preparation procedures above. Sand with 80-grit paper. Remove sanding residue. Apply Interprotect 2000E to a thickness of 10 mils. Apply at least two coats of ACT, allowing appropriate drying times.Bare Wood Sand with 80-grit paper. Remove sanding residue. Apply the first coat of ACT thinned 10% with Special Thinner 216 or Brush-Ease 433. Fill seams, if necessary, with Seam Compound Brown 30. Apply 2 more coats of ACT unthinned, allowing the appropriate dry times.Mixing: Stir or shake contents thoroughly before use.Thinner: Special Thinner 216 or Brush-Ease 433.Thinning: Thin only if necessary.
