Vintage A-2 Schott Brown Cowhide Leather Flying Flight Bomber Jacket Made in USA 46 XL / XXL

The Type A-2 leather flight jacket is an American military flight jacket originally invented and developed for and closely associated with World War II U.S. Army Air Force pilots, navigators and bombardiers. Sometimes casually referred to as a bomber jacket, its original designation was "Jacket, Pilot's (Summer)", and its wartime usage was limited neither to pilots nor to bomber crews.

The Type A-2 flying jacket was standardized by the U.S. Army Air Corps as the successor to the Type A-1 flying jacket adopted in 1927.

MADE IN USA.

Used and in great vintage condition, almost like new and complete with detachable liner. Some very light abrasion to the back of the arms near the cuffs. Please see all pictures.

This is a very heavy duty thick cowhide leather jacket approx 2.6kg in weight.

Colour(s): Brown.

Size: Size label is 46 and I would class as XL / XXL (UK sizing) based on a 54" full external chest measurement and the overall fit - but it depends how loose you like to wear (please see below for all key measurements to check against a similar garment of your own to ensure a good fit).

- Rib storm cuffs and hem

- Two front hand warmer pockets

- Two patch pockets with button flap fastening

- Underarm eyelet vents.

Also, for vintage and pre-worn items the shape may have changed after years of being worn. The best way to ensure your correct fit is to compare the measurements listed to an item that fits you well.
