3 STRUT LIGHT FRAME: Less is more. The Free inherits the GTS’s 3 Strut Light Frame concept which promotes more twist than a similar kite with five struts. More twist initiates faster turns and bigger grins. In addition, the reduced kite weight improves slack line drifting.

DELTA BOW SHAPE: The best of both worlds. The Free is recognized by the classic concave trailing edge of a bow; the swept back wings and smaller tips of a delta shape. This magic combination maximizes depower and control for early planing; upwind performance and, of course, big air. The shape also contributes to CORE’s signature precision, bar feel, relaunch-ability, and turn characteristics.

INTELLIGENT ARC: Intelligent Arc is a bridle configuration perfected on the XR series that modifies the airfoil on demand in a linear and direct way. Like a bird that spreads its wings to generate more lift, the Free increases its wingspan with a pull on the bar. Likewise, sheet out and the kite folds in its wings and depowers. Intelligent Arc. ULTRASHORT BRIDLE SYSTEM: Say goodbye to bridle induced bowties with our shortest bridle system ever. The new configuration improves feedback so you can better sense your kite position. For precise, tight but not overpowering, pivoty turns. In the larger kite sizes, this reflexivity increases even more so. Say hello to the un-bowtie-able Free.

EXOTEX®: Made in Germany. And exceptionally durable. ExoTex’s new asymmetrical Dacron weave and emulsion (protective coating) process is specifically developed for our exoskeleton frames to prevent bulging, ripping and UV degradation. The no stretch fabric also improves airflow by permitting reduced leading edge and strut diameters. Despite reducing strut diameters, our new ExoTex fabric upgrades frame stiffness, flight stability and rider feedback.

CORETEX® TRIPLE RIPSTOP: Exclusive to CORE. Our, industry leading, triple ripstop canopy fabric is protected and strengthened with three different coating processes called emulsions. CoreTex sets new benchmarks in breaking strength, tear resistance, longevity, UV protection and elongation. Feel the tight, crisp signature only a CoreTex kite can deliver.

SPEED VALVE 2: No special hose adapter to misplace here! The reinforced Speed Valve 2 connects directly to any standard 20mm OD twist lock pump hose. The Speed Valve 2 maximizes airflow, minimizes inflation times and noticeably reduces pump pressure. This inflation/deflation system is so good you may even leave your electric pump at home.

GRINTEX® PATCHES: Anti-wear protection where you need them most. New, extreme abrasion resistant patches on leading edge segment seams and strut attachment points will give you another level of protection from those perfectly placed beach hazards.

CORE INTELLIGENT TRIM SYSTEM (CIT): Kite speed and bar pressure is a matter of choice. Your choice. With fully adjustable back line tension (aka trim), bar pressure and kite turning speed, our quick adjusting trim system gives you the freedom to ride any way you like. But don’t worry, the kite comes out of the bag ready to fly so you can play with the adjustments later. 

SPEED PUMP SYSTEM: First one on the water wins! We installed big strut distribution hoses and designed more aerodynamic strut valves to make air flow faster into the struts. We did this all for you because we know how much you enjoy inflating your kite.

INSTANT AUTO RELAUNCH: Dropping this kite won’t raise your pulse. Just give the bar a little tug when the Free hits the water and watch it drift into a perfect relaunch position where it’s ready to safely pop back into the air.
