TO THE BUYER:  Be sure to check out our other products...especially our 7-gauge mule drive cover...its just a bit more money, but is the heaviest one made...and essentially indestructible (read below to learn why we think that is important).  The most exciting thing for us is that 10% of your 7-gauge cover purchase price is automatically sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

We offer this Green Iron version of a 10-gauge mule drive cover in order to compete price-wise with the 11-gauge covers offered by others on eBay.  That said, we don't recommend 10 or 11 gauge mule drive covers simply because we think these are still bendable, but not field-correctable by hand.  We believe that the original JD engineers made the original JD cover flimsy so that it could then be straightened out by hand in the field.  Just adding thickness to the original 18 gauge cover design seems like a no-brainer, but anything less than 7 gauge is likely to bend if it gets hit.  When you do finally hit something with your 10 or 11 gauge cover/guard, you will not likely be able to bend it back in the field...and perhaps not even in the shop.  You might even have trouble getting the cover off and we think its more likely to cause damage to a pulley.
