This star is truly outstanding!! I have machine pieced this star and it will have a background as shown, and borders as shown. Some of the fabrics may be differente than pictured due to fabric availability. I only use quilt shop quality fabrics. If you would like to see a pic of the fabrics I will use, please email me.

My husband and myself make each and every top in our store. They are NOT manufactured or come from overseas. Shipping usually takes approx. 25 days as these are not made ahead of time. QUALITY TAKES TIME, and we spend many hours to produce the best quality product for our customers.
We do not launder our fabrics for one simple reason: cost! It would be substantially more expensive if the fabrics had to be laundered and ironed before construction. There is a great product on the market called "Color Catcher" by SHOUT that works wonderfully at keeping the colors from running into other fabrics.
We do offer other services such as: completing the top to a specific size and completely quilted. If you are interested in these services, please email me.

Why Do Quilts (Tops) Cost So Much??
(Cost for materials, construction and finishing for a 65"x65" Lap Quilt)
Materials for the lap quilt:
Fabric: Usually 5 yards @ $10 per yard = $50
Construction: (Labor based on $10 per hour)
Machine piecing the top: (includes the fabric, cutting the pieces, sewing the pieces, ironing (twice), setting into rows, adding borders) 40 hours @ $10 per hour = $400
NOTE: a larger quilt, a more intricate pattern, quilting will cause the price to increase.
TOTAL COST FOR YOUR FINISHED TOP: $450.00
As you see, many, many hours are used to make you a custom quilt top (or quilt) like YOU WANT!!
Would you want to work for less than $5.00 per hour?? I don't think so, so please bare with us as we go through this process of increasing our prices so that we are not losing money year after year.
