With each order you are getting 250 grams (NET WEIGHT) of potassium iodide (KI),
AR grade (higher than USP grade), packaged in a sealed aluminum (or aluminum coated) bag.

Multiple orders might be placed in the same bag if possible unless the buyer chooses separate bags and pays an additional handling fee.
Pure KI is in a white fine crystal or powder form, to be kept in a dark sealed container at a cool place. It is moisture and (very) light sensitive. The iodine will dissociate over the time or under light to show the yellow color. 

We have had many buyers asking about how to tell the purity of potassium iodide.  It is not straightforward to determine the exact purity of potassium iodide as the analytical process requires standard of other chemicals and multiple steps.  However, it is easy to perform a few preliminary tests to rule out the impurity.

- Pure KI has a solubility of ~140 g/100mL of water.  With a good scale, you can measure a small amount of sample and add corresponding amount of distilled water (also using weight to be more accurate) for this test.  For example, you can mix approx. 14 grams of KI with 10 grams of water (it will get cold) and wait for it to reach room temperature.  All the crystal should dissolve.  If small amount is still there after a while, additional 2 or 3 drops of water should take care it.  This is probably caused by measuring errors or a temperature difference.  We have ordered some samples from China and found them to fail the purity test by a large margin.

- A clean potassium iodide water solution will be able to dissolve pure iodine solid, in a ratio of 1 grams of KI to 1.5 grams of iodine, by forming a complex ion.

- Some claim that a tasting method can give a clue.  However, it is not recommended due to safety reasons.
