DESCRIPTION: This is a SCARCE commemorative dish commemorating the completion of the Kuwait Automated Support System Communications Network in Kuwait! The project was built by Western Electric, a part of the Bell telephone system, for the Kuwaiti Air Force and the United States Navy. This dish reads "KUWAIT AUTOMATED SUPPORT SYSTEM COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK / Ali Al-Salem / Ahmed Al-Jaber / Main Base / Air Defense / In Commemoration of System Acceptance / December 15, 1981 / Kuwait Air Force / Air Defense / Western Electric / United States Navy". It is made of smoke colored glass with gold design/writing. Measures approx. 8-1/4" x 6-1/4". The glassware was custom designed and uses permanently fired 22K gold. Manufactured by Houze Art.
