HZJ80 / HDJ80 Series Landcruiser Pinion Flange - Multi Drilled Front

Multi Drilled Pinion Flange for HZJ80 / HDJ80 Series Landcruiser Front Diffs.

Replacement Multi Drilled Pinion Flange to suit all HZJ80 / HDJ80 Series Landcruiser Front Diffs.

NB: It is recommended the pinion nut and collapsible spacer should be replaced each and every time that the diff pinion nut is removed.

When a diff is set up, the preload is set on the pinion by tensioning the pinion nut to a specified torque.As the pinion nut is tensioned the spacer is collapsed. When reusing the old spacer the pinion nut needs to be tightened further to achieve same torque as there is no resistance applied that the spacer collapsing originally provided.

Two primary issues are:

  • The pinion bearings can run too tight causing bearing wear / failure.
  • The pinion gear may be unaligned from the crown wheel not allowing the gears too mesh correctly causing premature wear and/or failure of the gears.
