Alright, here we have 3 amazing sets, ALL of which are now RETIRED/DISCONTINUED and are demanding high prices. Try finding the Platoon Patrol Set for example. I think there are 1 or 2 complete sets on eBay, both in the U.K. & both are going to run you $50+. The Flamethrower Shock Troops appeared briefly on eBay for a few weeks and now they are gone! And then we have what I consider to be the ultimate Call of Duty/Tribute Set: Landing Craft Invasion, also know as the D-Day/Normandy set. What an amazing piece! All of these sets are appropriate for Military Collectors, Call of Duty enthusiasts, and Mega Bloks' fans who want the ultimate playing or diorama experience. These appeal to a large audience.
All 3 Sets are BRAND NEW! They are in excellent, unopened condition. I came up with my price based on the following:
Landing Craft Invasion: $160-$550
Platoon Patrol Set: $50-$70 (This one is currently on Sale on Walmart's website for $114.29!)
Flamethrower Shook Troops: $30-$85
These prices are contingent upon IF you can even FIND THEM for sale. I'll admit that this Lot is painful to part with. I'm an Historian and I had thought of doing a large Normandy diorama, and these are about as accurate as you're going to get with building block sets! But it's Christmas, and I have other things to get. (Plus, suffice it to say that my little girls aren't into WWII, Call of Duty, etc.!) Take advantage of these 3 RARE, RETIRED Sets. There are 4 Soldiers that come with the Landing Craft Invasion Set, which hardly seems like enough to storm the beaches of Normandy, even with a single Higgins' Boat. Together, you can beef the set up with a total of 13 soldiers, a bit more appropriate for this scene. I was going to include the Classic Infantry Set in with this instead of the Flamethrower Shock Troops, but aside from being more rare, I always think of 2 things: that opening scene from "Saving Private Ryan" is in my head when I think of the first few waves of landing on the beaches, and I figured the Flamethrower Shock Troop was appropriate and accurate; also, I think of the fact that both of my grandfathers and a great-grandfather are/were WWII veterans, one being a Marine trained on a Flamethrower as part of his duties.
****I thought about doing a massive WWII Set with the Half Track Ambush, Scout Car (Jeep), the Anti-Tank Gun it hauls, the Battle Tank (Sherman), German anti-aircraft Turret Gun, and the Fighter Plane (Mustang), along with the Classic Infantry Set and 3 WWII Troops from the Series 1 & 2 Figure Sets. If you think you might be interested in the entire lot (All are BRAND NEW, UNOPENED Items except for the Half Track, which is complete, in Excellent Condition, and even comes with the original box which is also in Excellent Condition), please contact me.
