Please note what you are getting is not the same color as the picture, Prototype supply discontinued the darker Cool Grey and all that is available is the lighter Grey ABS filament. I do have a few Silver kits left, silver looks to be grey with a slight hint of brown. But the two are very close in tone. The Cool Grey like in the picture is much darker. I have other colors available.

This listing is for a set of Fastmike Heng Long Worm Gear Drives, ready to run, set up and assembled in Light Grey. Use your stock RS380 motors and controllers in the tank. Comes with instructions and all of the fasteners needed for the install, please see the list below for what tank the gear drives will fit. This is a complete 3D printed kit and will have the RS540 motor plates, short motor supports and motor screws. Let me know what tank you need it set up for, if not, it will come set up with the bearing arms for the Tiger. Will have the bearing buttons and clips for the M41 included. Please specify if you have a Leopard 2A6, that model takes a different mounting plate and bearing housings. Cases are 3D printed, drilled, filed and glued case screw holes. I use only USA made ABS filament, printed on glass plates with hair spray. The 3D printed cases and mounting hardware are on Thingiverse #2725197. The gears and 3D printed parts in the kit, are manufactured in the USA. Bearings and fasteners are mostly manufactured outside the USA.

Please note that some modification of the tank (post trimming) or trimming of the 3D printed kits may be needed on some tank models. Not so much on the short axle kits, but more likely on the long axle kits. Smaller size drives will allow retention of internal components on most tanks.

This is an alternative gear drive for the Heng Long Battle Tanks that is lighter and has less drag on the drive train than the stock drives. Very noticeable improvement in turning ability and power. A savings of about 6 ounces in total weight over the stock metal gear drives. Very easy to install and use. Also have the ability to run RS540 motors and controllers in your battle tank with 540 motor drive plates and short motor supports. Please see my other listings for 540 kit with motor plates for the RS540 motors, motor supports and 38T 48P aluminum spur gears, you supply the 16T-20T 48P pinion gear for motor.

This gear drive set also allows you to change gear ratios by changing the aluminum spur gear. The 28T gear that comes with the kit matches very closely to the stock HL gear drive ratio. I have 26T, 27T, 29T and 30T gear sets available in other listings. The 26T-27T will gear the tank up, faster speed but less power, the 29T-30T will gear the tank down, slower but more power. Please let me know and I can substitute any spur gears in the kits. With the weight savings the tank will handle the next faster gear without much loss of power.

Kit comes with (2) matched sets of 304 stainless steel worm gears, made in my shop. CNC cut from solid stainless steel bar for solid care free use. These have very close tolerances because of the bearing fit on the shafts, no sloppy fit like the stock drives. These are very hard to manufacture with these tolerances being so small, but the benefits are worth it and should last the life of the tank under normal use. Also includes, (2) 28T 6061/T6 Aluminum spur gears with 5mm shaft, that match the gear pitch on the stock Heng Long motor gear. Assembled cases include (10) rubber sealed RC ball bearings, all of the fasteners to put everything together and mount stock RS380 motors, plus wire ties to hold motors.

The kits are universal and will fit either short or long axle tanks by switching sides with the gear cases. The Tiger tank short axle drives with bearing support arm will fit the following tanks 3818, 3819, 3848, 3849, 3859 and 3868. The M41A long axle kit with bearing buttons that go through the tank hull will fit the following tanks 3838, 3839, 3889, 3918.
