Product Warranty

Summits is a retail store dealing with reputable, quality brands who have excellent after-sales and customer service. However, before you use a product purchased from ourselves we would like to cover some key details and warranty issues:

Clothing and Footwear:

To begin with, all the clothing and footwear is covered by each individual company’s warranty. This can be done simply by searching the Brand Name that you have bought (or are thinking of buying) on Google, followed by ‘Warranty’. Here are the main clothing brands we deal with: The North Face, Rab, Rossignol, Mountain Equipment, Montane, Sprayway, Berghaus, Keen, Bogs, Scarpa, Merrell, Asolo and Animal.

Camping Equipment:

Camping equipment warranties are even more comprehensive depending on the item purchased. Vango, for example, offer up to a 3-year warranty with most of their products. Please make sure you understand each manufacturers’ warranty (Some items require registration with the company) This can be done simply by searching the Brand Name that you have bought (or are thinking of buying) on Google, followed by ‘Warranty’.

NOTE – Most companies do not cover tent poles under their warranty, stating:

‘As a guide, the following damage is not covered under warranty: TENTS – Any tent pole breakages, these are treated as “fair wear and tear”. Collateral damage from a pole breakage.’

The reason for this important exclusion is that most breakages are caused by customer error. Poles are easily damaged when sections are not fully located together. Please thoroughly check that when you are erecting your tent to make sure each pole section is fully located and there is no sign of any damage before being used.

Winter Equipment:

Winter equipment warranty details, as well as the option to register your product, can be found on the brands own websites, again search for the brand online followed by ‘Warranty’: Rome, Rossignol, Scott, K2, Union and Fritschi.

Our Returns Policy – As long as an item is unused and still in its original condition then you can return it within 60 days for a full refund. Just simply open up a returns case on eBay and we will help sort that for you as quickly as possible.
