This wonderful Cree Bag is made of a soft brain tanned hide with the front panel being fully beaded with a stylized floral decoration. The bead work is executed using colors of white, black and red seed beads in the background and translucent brown, translucent caramel, black, translucent red, translucent blue-green, translucent orange, and translucent red. The Bag retains its original strap handles at the top and a hide fringe at the bottom edge with pony bead decorations.

    This very rare and very beautiful, ca1910's Cree Bead Decorated Bag is in very good condition. All of the hide elements are well preserved - supple and sound but with surface soiling and some surface wear. One end of one of the strap handles at the top is detached. The beadwork is exceptionally beautiful and well preserved with some small areas of loss to the seed bead background as can be seen in the scans below.
