Vintage 1950's Tin Litho Battery Operated Miss Friday The Typist with Box Japan

Description

Shown here is a hard-to-find and rare tin litho toy and was Made in Japan. It is "Miss Friday The Typist" and was found in her original box. The sides of the desk fold out and lock in and her head is removable so she fits in the box. This measures approximately 7 1/2" tall, desk is 5 1/2" across when folded and 8 1/4" when opened. The battery compartment is clean and we put in batteries and she will not type. Perhaps a simple fix. Her clothing and hair are in great condition with a few creases. Plastic arms and head are soft and not brittle. There is some packing/cardboard remnants on her upper right arm that I did not try to remove. The box is in good condition with some sun fading, wrinkles and small tears. Nice to find complete. Thanks for looking.
