If an electric motor is struggling to Start or Humming it may well be the capacitor.
Please Note: An electric motor start capacitor only is 250v and a run capacitor is 450v.
There are usually 2 capacitors fitted on an electric motor, 1 is a start and 1 is a run capacitor.
If only 1 Capacitor is Fitted its more than likely a 400v Run Capacitor that acts as a start and a run Capacitor.
To select the size of Capacitor you need you need to Know the UF Rating or Micro fared and the Voltage on the capacitor.
