Very scarce original edition of 1772 of this work of meteorology by Giuseppe Saverio Poli (1746-1825) physician biologist and italian and italian naturalist.
Poli got a degree in medicine and began to teach in Nunziatella of which after some time cared the Gabinet of physics providing the most modern tools. He continued his activity of teaching in the Ospedale degli Incurabili.
He bacame very famous for his "Elementi di fisica" published in different editions.
Thanks to different voyages Poli enetered into contact with importants exponents of scientific international world between them Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famous to be one of the establisher fathers of United States making different discoveries in the area of electricity and invented the kite twain.
The work is based on the ideas on Franklin about the thunder.

Not common work, only 8 copies in the archive of italian libraries ICCU.
In fair conditions but complete of all pages.
Full parchment coeval cover with golden title in the spine in poor general conditions with wearings and missing parts in the edges and spine. Cover compeltely detached from the body of the book (see the photo). Binding in fair conditions. Inside pages are in good conditions with occasional foxings. Worming in the first 10 pages with slight loss of text until pag. 6 and from CXXVI untilt he end ruining the text from pag. CXLVII until the end with loss of some portion of letter. In 8. Dim. 20,5x13 cm. Pp. 24+CLII.

Rarissima prima edizione del 1772 di questa opera di meteorologia di Giuseppe Saverio Poli (1746-1825) fisico biologo e naturalista italiano.
Laureatosi in medicina Poli iniziò ad insegnare alla Nunziatella della quale in seguito curò il Gabinetto di fisica dotandolo delle più moderne apparecchiature. Continuò la sua attività di insegnamento all'Ospedale degli Incurabili.
Famosissimi i suoi "Elementi di fisica" pubblicati in numerose edizioni.
Grazie ai suoi molti viaggi Poli entrò in contatto con autorevoli esponenti del mondo scientifico internazionale tra cui Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) che oltre ad essere noto per essere uno dei padri fondatori degli Stati Uniti compì numerose scoperte nell'ambito dell'elettricità e inventò il parafulmine.
L'opera si basa sulle idee di Franklin sul tuono.

In discrete condizioni ma completo di tutte le pagine.
Copertina in piena pergamena coeva con titolo in oro al dorso in mediocri condizioni generali con usure e parti mancanti ai margini e dorso. Copertina staccata completamente dal corpo del libro (vedere foto). Legatura in discrete condizioni. All'interno le pagine si presentano in buone condizioni con fioriture e mende. Segni di tarlo alle prime 10 pagine con lieve perdita di testo fino a pag. 6 e da CXXVI alla fine inficianti il testo da pag. CXLVII fino alla fine con perdita di qualche porzione di lettera. In 8.
