I am purely a layman, but when the 85 year old gentleman asked me to sell this for him I felt that this “fiddle” as he calls it, bought over 69 years ago by his father, for him, might be something special.  His dad bought it used from what the son remembers as “an old German man” in Atlanta, Georgia.  The bow came with it but has no makers marks.    The son took a few lessons but never got good at it.  when he was 17 the original wooden violin case was damaged.  Some years later he replaced the case with the current Skylark Brand case made in the People’s Republic of China.

The owner has one daughter, who like her dad, never took to the violin.  It spent many decades in the closet.

The measurements of the violin are approx. 23 1/2” long x approx. 8” wide x approx. 1 1/2” at the body and 2” at the top curl.  It has 4 strings.  it appears to be in good playable condition.  Only 3 “hairs” are hanging from the bow.  The rest are totally intact.

I will send more pics to any bidder who needs them to correctly assess the value and functionality of this fine instrument.

Please study the current pics for they certainly will tell you more about this instrument than I can.

If you can provide additional information that would better describe this violin, please message me.

Good luck.  We pray this is a real treasure to someone out there.  Buy it is you know you want it.  I make no claims as to value.
