Old antique splint oak gathering square basket with handles woven into the sides. Likely for potato and other heavier vegetable gathering. Built to last.

Circa late 1800's to turn of the century, with a mustard color paint that is newer.

A sturdy basket but does show damage and mends. The base shows heavy solid support oak slats with old nails.

16 " square x 12 " tall

Selling from an estate just as it is found and seen in photos with plenty of wear and holes. It has a wire and some string on the top edges to reinforce ~ it needs more reinforcement, an easy task, and it will be shipped to you with that in mind ~ I suggest simply using wire as they did in the 1800's for reinforcements and mends ~ it looks cool too. A very primitive and rustic and colorful basket to add to your home ~!

A great piece for a porch decoration where you don't have to worry about it getting further weather damage~! Shows well for seasonal display~! A lovely shape for a large greenery bouquet ~
