A vintage Southwest polished black on black clay hand thrown pottery bowl. I believe it's from the pueblo San Ildefonso. It's a lighter weight clay with a polished interior, not the typical thicker heavy body clays. An unusual and beautiful artisan piece.
Allows for a striking arrangement of your Southwestern collections. Great form; great color.
Artist signed on bottom...cannot decipher it.
Overall very good to excellent. Tight short 1 1/4" hairline just at a tiny rim nick, see photo ~ normal studio pottery glaze wear, see photos
10 " diameter at wide body, opening is 7 1/2 " diameter x 3 3/4 " tall
Beautiful mid century modern design ~ a striking addition to a Southwestern pottery display~!
