This module is used to remove, bypass or override the Smartlock anti-theft system used on Ford falcons from 1991 to 1999.
This module will generate the required signal, allowing the engine computer to run independently without the factory BEM (Body Electronics Module) or programmed ignition keys.
It is tycially used when the factory system fails and the engine cranks but doesnt start, or when you have to bang the dash to make the vehicle crank over.
It is mounted near the engine ECU in the LH kick panel. The small size means it can be easily cabled tied directly to the wiring loom to keep it secure.
3 wires need to be connected - the fitting instructions detail exactly which wires from the ECU to connect to, and include color diagrams of the ECU connector to help you.
If required, 2 wires are joined at the factory smartlock or BEM module, ensuring the starter relay always works when you turn the key and removing the 'starter cut' feature from the factory system.
This module is what most people need, but there is also a
5-wire version
available.
It can be interfaced with a kill-switch or aftermarket immobilizer, and uses the
factory smartlock system to prevent the engine starting when you dont want it to.
