Timeless Stitches Pattern TSM-710 Civil War Style "STANDARD ISSUE/BASIC SHIRT" Pattern. This is a new, unused pattern in the original factory fold. 

The Civil War Style MEN'S STANDARD ISSUE/BASIC SHIRT pattern is multi-sized, the pattern contains patterns for small, medium, large and extra large shirts (Neck sizes 15, 16, 17, and 18".) 

From the pattern: "This pattern is for the most basic of all men's shirts.  This pattern can be used for shirts that extend from 1800-1900.  The techniques in this pattern can be used to make three distinctly different styles of shirt.  Each of which has separate features, but as many shirts were made at home, the final look of your garment will depend on the choice of fabrics, the economic status you are trying to portray and the planned use of your garment.  I have categorized this pattern according to the three styles, but the necklines and collar options can be mixed and matched according to your individual desires and the planned use of your garment.  

The three styles are:

A) Military Standard Issue Shirt:  a loose pullover shirt, with a fold over collar, single button at the keyhole neckline and tapered sleeves.

B) The Blockade Shirt:  Based on the thousands of shirts that were provided by England, to the North and South before and during the War.  Called the Blockade Shirt because many were smuggled through the Federal Blockade.  This is a loose pullover shirt with a single button front opening with a narrow facing and a narrow band collar and cuffs.

C) The Placket Shirt:  3-4 button front placket opening characterizes this pullover shirt, which can have either a fold over or a banded collar.  Most children's shirts were made using this style. 

Because this shirt is cut using rectangles, this pattern can be used to make a shirt for a 2-year-old child or a 99-year-old man. A truly "all sizes in one" pattern."
