This is a very rare BEA Airlines Information Booklet for the Vickers Viscount Dart Turbo Propeller Engine. We date this item between 1948 and the mid-1950's based on the estate items grouped in with this remarkable find and it's content. The booklet is in mint condition and is a complete introduction and description to the flying public on what a Turboprop engine is and how it works. Item measures 7.75" by 4" inches. Not only is this a great piece of aviation history, but its information is still valid in teaching jet engine and turboprop engine basics today.

A little more information :
The first Vickers Viscount maiden flight in 1948, and in the Viscount was the first turboprop engine to enter airline service, with British European Airways (BEA), in 1950. On 29 July 1948 a flight between Northolt and Paris–Le Bourget Airport with 14 paying passengers in a Dart-powered Viscount was the first scheduled airline flight by any turbine-powered aircraft.
