Description Rare old vintage, MELAS brand carbide gas, bicycle head lamp of 30's, made in England. lamp is made of brass, it has its original nickle plating on it, there are some scratches and a dent on the lamp, nickle plating has come out from some portions, some rust on clamp area as it is made of iron, front glass is magnifying, some part is missing under the nauzel of lamp it can be seen in the last image, made in England is not written on the lamp but Melas brand should be an English make, overall condition of lamp is good for its old age. In early old days these type of carbide gas functioning brass head lamps were fitted in bicycles.
