1645 ANTIQUE BLAEU MAP OF BUCKINGHAMSHIRE BUCKINGHAMIENSIS COMITATIS ANGLIS

'BUCKINGHAMIENSIS' Buckinghamshire by Joan Blaeu c.1645

A very attractive, finely engraved and beautifully hand coloured 17th century map of Buckinghamshire which appeared in Joan Blaeu's 'Theatrum Orbis Terrarum'  (Amsterdam).

This is an antique copperplate engraving with original hand colour.

Sheet is approximately 43.8cms  by 28.8cms.

Nice condition with good colour and age toning, repair to border bottom left,  several short closed edge splits difficult to spot (please see photographs for detailed condition).  This will frame well and is shown in a mount for illustrative purposes only; the mount is not included in the sale. The map will be posted rolled carefully in a strong postal tube.
