Background: Stephen Schlanser is a renowned kiln-fired sheet glass sculpture artist and

 the founder and owner of Schlanser Design Studio, an innovative company that unfolded

 from a small stained glass studio in Southern California.  Schlanser's works exhibit

 a complete mastery of the art of cut and blown glass, perfectly uniting functional art and

 gleaming sculpture.  Each piece is individually handcrafted using an ancient technique

 called fusing, in which a plate of glass is heated to near melting and then shaped into a

 unique design.  This art form was practiced by the Persians and Egyptians some 4,000

 years ago.  Similar bowls sell for $275 new. 

Condition:  The bowl is in near mint condition, with no chips, cracks, stains or repairs.  There are a few 
tiny scratches on the base, visible only upon close inspection.
