Bass Rock, auch The Bass, ist eine Insel vor der Küste der schottischen Region
East Lothian im Südosten des Firth of Forth, der etwa 2 Kilometer vor der Küste
und ca. 5 km nordöstlich von North Berwick liegt. Der über 100 m aus dem
Wasser ragende Felsen gab dem Basstölpel seinen Namen.
Kupferstich nach John Slezer (vor 1650-1717), mit etwas späterer Kolorierung,
aus seinem:`Theatrum Scotiae...´, London, 1693.
Hier mit der Dedikation (ab 1718) sowie der Nr. 73 der Ausgabe 1729/8.

Scotland, The Bass Rock, or simply the Bass, is an island in the Firth of Forth,
aprox. 2 kilometres offshore, and about 5 kilometres north-east of North Berwick.

Here with dedication (from 1718 onwords) and no. 73 from the Ed. of 1729/8.
