This is for top quality, certified and fully plant passported bare root Silver Birch (Betula Pendula).

Silver Birch is a wonderful choice for a stand-alone tree or as part of a native hedge mix. This beautiful tree produces early catkins followed by delicate light green leaves. The silver white bark of the tree trunks takes a few years to develop fully but when you get your trees take a look and you will see tiny white spots which are the developing bark.

Happy to grow in most soils and totally hardy, Silver Birch makes a super addition to mixed hedgerows and is horse friendly meaning that we put it in our horse friendly mix.

We recommend 5 plants per metre in a double zig-zag row mixed with other native plants for a thick hedge, but you can get away with 3-4 per metre in a staggered row if you don’t mind waiting an extra year or two to form a thick hedge. Alternatively, you might wish to plant in groups of three or five for a natural look.

All you need to do is choose the size of the plant now and the number you need!

For best results plant with Rootgrow gel – it increases the growth rate by up to 50% and really helps the plants establish.

 Keep them well watered – especially in the Spring and Summer in the first year of planting.
