Yoshi Takahashi (Japanese 高桥 义 治, Yoshiharu Takahashi, Tokyo * 1943, † 1998 in Bad Reichenhall/Germany) was a Japanese painter and graphic artist who lived from 1960 in Germany and1974 in Austria and worked. In addition to teaching in Munich, Salzburg and Saarland he created especially paintings, watercolors, gouaches, aquatints and etchings and some lithographs andlinocuts, which he in 1969 in exhibitions in Belgium, Germany, France, Japan, Luxembourg, Austria, South Tyrol and presented in the United States. His work is represented in collections in Europe and Japan. In his art he was close to Roger Bissière, Paul Cézanne, Alberto Giacometti and Paul Klee, but he developed a self-image world, continued to live in the Japanese and European artistic traditions.
