This is a copy of a glossy 8x10 photo that was taken at Olympia stadium during the 1950's. You can tell this shot is from the 'Old Red Barn' by the clothing on the fans. Going to a hockey game was a social event, the men wore ties, and the women looked like they had just come from church. There were only 6 teams then, and you could tell the players by sight because they didn't wear helmets or face shields. Wire mesh ringed the surface instead of plexi-glass, and Howe and Lindsey ruled the Detroit ice like hockey gods. Relive the days, and the players with this and other amazing photographs we have of hockey history. All photocopies are NM/MNT condition.

Here we see action in front of the Red Wings net!  Toronto center Eric Nesterenko is hoping for  for the rebound off the net post, Goalie Terry Sawchuk is trying to cover the loose puck!   This picture was taken for the Detroit Times ion January 24th, 1954.    Great "Original 6", '50s action!  This will make a great gift or addition to a classic Red Wings or Maple Leafs hockey collection!

The copy is made on good grade paper, and will be shipped in a photo-mailer envelope for protection.  We are happy to combine auctions to save you on S&H.  Out of country customers should contact us about additional shipping charges.  USPS rates have gone up!   If you have any questions, contact us.  Good Luck!  It will be a pleasure doing business with you.  Don't forget to look at our other auctions, and items in our new Ebay Store!  We Sell Good Stuff!!
