If you have not yet had a Tony Ray kit the Laser parts never fail to astound on just how good everything fits. 

This kit is probably better than kits twice or three times the price.

The model has bungee sprung undercarriage - it's a brilliant feature, just like the full size. We found Loom Bands make good suspension springs.

There is no Radio Equipment with this model and with the budget version sold here there is no Motor or Propeller.

We recommend Tony's Motor B Set  - a motor from a Parkzone or E Flite UMX is perfect. use up your scrap motor / rc box.

This model is a challenging and interesting model build - But it is rated as an Easy Build 2 (where 1 is Very Easy, 2 is easy with some challenges - 7 would be extremely difficult) – The build is rewarding and great fun. You can sit with a tray or board on your knee while watching TV and build away till your hearts content. Great for when it’s too cold in the shed.

Lots of small parts - Not for beginners or specifically for experts.  People with little Model Kit building experience have built this model and due to the amazing fit of parts, quality of the Kit and help with our exclusive EXTRA to the UK Bleriot Instructions -They have done OK. 

Tony Ray’s Laser cut Balsa model is such a lovely looking aircraft it can be built static or as a flying model. It has been designed to take Micro Radio Control and various types can be fitted or adapted to it. Some might want to use Donor RC gear from UMX aircraft that are past their fly by date. Tip Keep the Back-end Light!

You can go the recommended route installing the RC or adapt it to different available RC with very small modifications. Why not try to fit an RC Brick with servo’s and ESC installed. The type of Board used in the E-Flite, ParkZone, FlyZone, Ares Models etc?

Radio Installation is shown in the instructions – BUT note that RC equipment is not included with the model – There is no Prop or Motor in this Kit ONLY  version.

 Keep the rear end as light as possible. It is quite likely that you will need nose weight to balance the model. This is normal for this type. Still some have managed to get away from weight up the front – so it can be done.

Features

• All balsa and hardwood (Basswood) are Laser Cut and the kit does include white tissue.
• Some hardware is included (carbon, hinges, heat shrink tube, micro screws and rubber wheels, but you will also require other items to finish this model.
• Great for flying outdoors in small spaces, parks etc on calm days, the model is also suitable for indoor Flying. Needing the space of 1, 2 to 3 Badminton Courts space to fly.

Bass Wood 2 ply Feature is now 3 ply Improvement to the kit.

• The Bass wood was 2 ply instead of 3 ply. Unfortunately the 2 ply gave the appearance the wood might be warped. It wasn't as bad as it looked. As the kit was assembled normally the laser accuracy of the wood fits removes any warp. The problem with using 3 ply was one of weight gain but after much research Tony Ray has discovered and new supply of 3 ply would which makes the 'frame' warping of the sheets no longer an issue of debate. Seriously the 2ply kits have built many a successful flying model from what looked like warped sheets. The components were / are so accurate it was never a major issue.

Designed for Radio Control but what about FREE FLIGHT?

Designed to be Radio Controlled. This is not a Rubber Power Model we adapt. It is designed to have RC, what is amazing is that some modellers have taken this RC design, not put RC in it and have converted to FREE FLIGHT – no RC.  Usually we see this done the other way around Free Flight converted into RC, so why not the other way?

The Fokker Mono Plane in this series has also flown FREE FLIGHT successfully.

Static Display.

A wonderful model for a static display in an office, pub or restaurant. Great as one of the models hanging up in the baby’s bedroom. The build of this model is easy the experienced part comes for when we RC it or fly it. If you are building Static, just to display the model, less experience is needed and most people would manage to assemble this model to such a standard it would look interesting in a Childs Bedroom as a display item hanging from the ceiling or in a cabinet. It is delicate and not child proof. It would only survive out of reach or in a cabinet.
