DESCRIPTION:  Old Semi-Antique Hand Made, Hand Sewn Cotton Japanese Kimono. This is an Indigo Blue Dyed Textile that has been resist dyed by an Ikat Technique called Kasuri in Japan.  Typically the warp threads are tied off or mashed in a vice-like flat mold to prevent dye and create a pattern.  In this case the darker Indigo main color contrasts with light blue geometric designs and pattern elements.  A light crisp feeling fabric that has apparently been sewn all by hand, with evidence of hand stitching on all visible seams.
This Kimono, acquired 30 years ago, came from an Elderly Japanese Lady living in Hawaii, - estimated age first quarter to first half of 20th Century but could be older.
Please check the other Japanese Textiles I acquired from her and am selling separately: One Antique silk Obi, One Semi-Antique Obi (Not included in this listing but found on my site).  This listing is for THIS Kimono only, alone.

SIZE:  Measuring from the back collar to the hem: ~57"
Sleeves end to end: ~47"
Shoulder seam to tip of sleeve= ~12" each side.
Shoulder seam to open armpit of sleeve= ~12.5"
Back of Kimono about hip level, side seam to side seam= ~21.5".
Back mid seam to side seam at hip level: ~10.5"  each way.
Garment WEIGHT:  15.7 ounces (Package will weigh over One Pound)

CONDITION:  This is a semi-Antique Used/Worn Kimono and shows signs of use: some staining in the seat area, and sleeves.  Lightly dirty around collar.  Could benefit from Professional Cleaning.  However, generally is very beautiful, and I don't see any rips or torn seams.  The "seat" area is double cloth- reinforced from the inside, and inner upper back/shoulder area is lined with a light fabric, hand stitched.  Please use photos to help determine appearance and condition and zoom in as needed.

NOTE: Some Photos look like fading are just contrast of fabric with backing VS light shining through!

CARE: Has not been laundered by me.  Please consult with someone more expert on Kimono Cleaning and Care because I am not a Kimono expert!  If you do go to Dry Cleaner be sure they know this is Indigo Dyed and and they should NOT use any harsh chemicals on it.
