Don't let the lengthy ad nor the high price scare you away.
The high fixed price is intentional. I want multiple buyers to have time
to investigate the list of tubes and make inquiry. If there is a single/pair of rare and valuable tube(s) in this list (worth $50 or more) you would like to buy or make an offer on, message me through eBay messaging with your interests and I will see what I can do...…. Extensive list of tubes is near bottom of this description.
Here is an extra large collection of antique and vintage vacuum tubes.
I frequent a local "SECOND HAND" vendor who has a knack for acquiring odd, old, and unique items.
Many of the items I buy from him are items which I buy for my own use, such as tools (a vintage
transit for instance suitable for building or even surveying).
Some of the items are non-working items that I buy with the intent to repair and resell, such as pneumatic framing nailers, etc. .
Sometimes I inquire about an item and he makes me a good offer which I then buy on
speculation. I have several such items in my possession that fit that category and from multiple sources. I try to use the speculation buys to finance my purchase of items I keep for my own use.
Today I am listing a large lot of antique and vintage vacuum tubes. I suppose about all
vacuum tubes are vintage. I was born in the vacuum era and can still recall when hardware stores, general stores, and occasionally even a grocery store had a customer useable tube tester located atop a lockable cabinet with an assortment of the most popular vacuum tubes.
This lot is a mixture of about 175 vacuum tubes. it may actually be bigger. I have since found a few more tubes that I will try to add to the box prior to final packing for shipping. The lot consists of what appears to be NEW tubes in boxes and used tubes, not in boxes. It is possible that some of the non-boxed tubes are new/old stock and the boxes just got damaged and tossed/lost or whatever. There appears to be about 75 boxed tubes and I think these are new. There appears to be about 100 tubes that are not boxed and I presume that most of these are used tubes. There are also about 20 empty boxes but not sure any of the empty boxes will match up with the unboxed tubes.
The bulk of these tubes are RCA but the lot includes tube(s) by Westinghouse, GTE, Sylvania, Raytheon, Cunningham, Radiotron, Long Life, Stromberg Carlson, General Electric (GE), even noticed one labeled TeleFunken Germany.
I am a former Industrial Arts teacher and fax machine technician/repairman, among other things. I had a good tube tester years ago that I have probably long since parted with as well as one that was given to me later by an elderly friend but I have never used it and it is stored back at the farm 90 miles away. I, therefore, have made no effort whatsoever to do any testing on any of these tubes. I believe these likely came from the estate of a former TV/Radio repairman probably long deceased. The fact that there is a large quantity of unboxed tubes suggests to me that when he encountered a TV or radio beyond repair, he pulled and retained the working tubes before disposing of the chassis but that is admittedly speculation on my part. I know they were dusty when I obtained them from probably years of storage in a garage/shed, etc. I have made minimal effort to spruce up their appearance other than to wipe some dust off.
I spent the better part of a day doing inventory work on this batch of tubes. I normally do not do near that much research on items I list, but whereas sometimes a single rare vacuum tube may bring in excess of $100, ever two or three hundred, I thought it might be a good idea to just see what all I had. There are several tubes in this lot which appear to be worth in the $20 to $40 range and some even more valuable than that. Many of the tube numbers I ran through ebay search yielded NO SEARCH RESULTS which suggests they may be rare or hard to find tubes. And if so, they may be quite valuable.
I have seen several Vacuum Tube Lots of 100 pieces or less go for $200 to $500 with a few even hitting the $500 to $1000.00 range.
Here are a few of those action numbers. two2383585921four, two8372923003one,
The following 62 pc. lot, auction one7408076991five, brought over $1000.00. Admittedly, it probably contained some very old and hard to get tubes and most were boxed and probably NEW-OLD STOCK. Many of mine are boxed too, and the lot I suspect does contain a few rare, hard to find tubes.
I have taken numerous pictures and in many cases you will be able to read the tube number from the end of the box. But over half the tubes are not boxed and therefore, the numbers are likely not legible from any of the pictures.
I have tried to put together an extensive list of the tubes contained in this listing. If a tube is listed more than once in the list, there should be a corresponding tube to go with each time it is listed. I did let my Excel program sort them into order. I am sure I did not get some of them listed and I suspect I may have misread some of the numbers or even mistyped them when entering them into the spreadsheet. But for the most part, I think it will be fairly accurate. If in doubt, message me and I will try to check it out, but only if it is presumed to be a rare and high priced tube.
Some of the specific tube information in list is a cut and paste based on internet research. Verify it for yourself. It is presumed to be accurate but this seller makes no guarantee thereof.

Item is currently being listed with a FIXED PRICE at which I do not necessarily expect it to sell. That is intentional. I want buyers to have time
to investigate the list of tubes and make inquiry. If there is a valuable, rare single tube or tube pair in this list you would like to buy or make an offer on, message me through eBay messaging with you interests and I will see what I can do.......
If item does not move at the fixed price, I will likely/eventually relist with an auction format and a much lower starting bid.
But if money is not an object for you and this is a lot that you just have to have......
Use the Buy It Now immediately before someone else does and before I parcel it out.
If you have a tube tester and buy in quantity lots to resell in small lots, here is an opportunity.
Shipping is FREE if you buy this lot at the FIXED PRICE.
If you have any possible future interest in this item, but sure to click "WATCH" item. I sometimes send reduced offers to auction watchers if item has been listed for some time without selling.
I generally ship within 24 to 48 hours of payment discovery. However, I list with a 5 day shipping window because I sometimes have to take unexpected trips out of town.
Thanks for looking,
Respectfully,
Terry
