Here on offer is a rare antique William Schiller & Son jug dating to the late 19th century.

Wilhelm Schiller began production of porcelain and earthenware in Bodenbach, Bohemia in 1829, operating under the name of Schiller and Gerbing. In 1885, the firm was dissolved and renamed Wilhelm Schiller and Son and remained in operation until the onset of World War I.

This wonderful jug has superb naturalistic modelling and has the handle fashioned as a branch. The jug has a black matt glaze with matt red accents.

The jug is almost free of damage, it has two miniscule chips. There maker mark WS&S is embossed into the base with the number 75.

The jug is being offered in good antique condition, it measures about 11.5cm by 14cm at the widest point.

A wonderful rare collectable piece.
