STUDIA PONTICA I:  A Journey of Exploration in Pontus by J.G.C. ANDERSON. Printed in 1903.

This scarce book is in English, but published in Belgium.  Very, very rare. Covers Greek coast of the Black Sea, as well as Amasia, Tokat and Sausun. 104 pages., 9 b/w plates plus 4 full page photographiques. Voyage and exploration of Greek Pontus (Black Sea coast around Trapezund, Turkey), covering some Armenian areas also. Author traveled in those areas in 1896 to 1899.

STUDIA PONTICA II: Voyage d'exploration archéologique dans le pont et la petite Arménie.  Written by the brothers F. and E. Cumonts.

This very rare book is in French and it was published in Brussels, Belgium by H. Lamertin in 1906.  It's the only edition with over 100 fine photographic plates and 16 color maps.  The book has 268 pages.

A description of a journey from Samsoun to Trapezunt via Amasia, Tokat, Sivas, Karahisar and Erzingian in 1900 on the Black Sea (Pont) and "little Armenia".  Also included and covered in details and illustrations is Kara-Nissar, the birthplace of Zoravar Andranik.  There are many original photographs of people, bridges, old cities and ruins.  The text is in French (with numerous notes in Latin and Greek, coming from ancient authors describing this part country).  Fi
