Our Semi Crocheted Synthetic Dreadlocks have been made by crocheting the outer layer and wrapping it around a bundle of undreaded hair. The textured outer layer emulates real dreads whilst the twist is still evident. We consider these our entry level dreadlocks thanks to their affordability and they are easy to braid in to trial the dreadlocked look. If you are after a synthetic dreadlock which looks just like real dreads, then you may wish to consider our Crocheted Synthetic Dreadlocks which are also in our eBay store - these form our premium range, look just like real dreadlocks and are the softest and most flexible type of synthetic dreadlock available. 

INCLUSIONS: 10 individual synthetic dreadlock extensions which are approximately 55cm/21.5inches long and 8mm wide.  

COLOUR: The colours available appear in the drop down box. If you want a variety of colours, please select Blend and leave a comment with the colours you want and how many of each.  

WEAR & CARE: Our dreadlock extensions will last indefinitely and if braided in, can be worn for many weeks and even months at a time, depending on how quickly your hair grows. They can get wet, washed and shampooed as per your normal hair. Occasional maintenance may be required to tidy them up by either crocheting in any loose hairs or re heat sealing. 

HOW MANY DO I NEED FOR A FULL HEAD? On average, most people have about 50 dreads for a full head and more if you want extra volume. 

INSTALLATION REGULAR UNDREADED HAIR: Braid them into your own hair by pulling a section of your hair through the loop at the top of the extension. The Latch Hook (also in our Etsy store) will make it easy to pull the hair through the loop. Split that section in half and use the extension as the third piece to create a braid that will secure the extension in place. Our Heavy Duty Pro Elastics can be found under the Tools category and are the perfect band for holding these in place. 

EXTENDING THE LENGTH OF EXISTING DREADS: Semi Crocheted dreadlocks can also be used to extend existing dreadlocks by crocheting the extension to the bottom of your own dread. Please note that the twist is evident so visually, they may appear different to your own dreads on close inspection. Crocheted Human Hair or Crocheted Synthetics (also available in store) are the ultimate extension to lengthen existing dreads as they will look exactly like your own dreads and will require very minimal maintenance.
