Advertising Cover
Grain Dealers Journal (Chicago, Ill) to
Pacific Palisades Assn (Los Angeles CA)
~ Oct 1923 ~

Bright and clean advertising cover addressed to the Pacific Palisades Assn / Palisades Station, Los Angeles California.

This envelope was saved by Clifford Clearwater. As newlyweds in 1922, Clifford and Zola Clearwater joined a fledgling community that would become Pacific Palisades CA, living in a tent under Founder's Oak in Temescal Canyon until their house was completed. In fact, their first child was the second child ever born in the Palisades. Clearwater bought the local newspaper The Palisadian in 1934. Although untrained as a journalist (his previous jobs included delivering the mail by horseback as the town's original postal carrier), Clearwater had natural talents that enabled him to serve with distinction as editor, publisher, photographer, and civic leader until his death in 1956.

Envelope Measures 3.75 x 6.5 Inches.
In Very Good Condition.
