*NOTE TO EBAY - THESE BOXES ARE SHIPPED FLAT AND DO NOT CONTAIN ANY RESTRICTED AMMUNITION COMPONENTS*

Up for your consideration is a set of 2 empty reproduction early-war M1 carbine 2-piece 50 round ammunition cartons, with the original WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS COMPANY CALIBER .30 SHORT RIFLE M-1 SELF LOADING CARTRIDGE labels.

Winchester Repeating Arms Company was the manufacturer selected by the Ordnance Department to develop the cartridge that was to be used in the new light rifle that was in competitive  development at the same time. The nomenclature assigned to the original cartridge was "Cartridge, Cal. .30, Short Rifle, M1." The round was developed from Winchester's commercial Cal. .32 self-loading cartridge. The first two lots of cartridges (March and May 1941) were used for weapons testing. A third order was placed in November 1941, with the box label reading "Cal. .30 Short Rifle M-1 Self Loading Cartridges" and was the first production batch that utilized the 2-piece carton.

Each "Buy It Now" single purchase is for 2 unassembled 2-piece cartons, and the early Winchester Self Loading Cartridge labels.. The cartons and labels will be shipped flat, with assembly instructions. I had a lot of these made, so if you want multiple sets, just change the auction quantity before you click on the "Buy It Now" button.
