Daiwa BG MQ Spinning Reels Monocoque 1-Piece Frame Saltwater Spinning Reels

The all-new Daiwa BG MQ Spinning Reels are a new series of Daiwa BG Spinning Reels with a monocoque one-piece aluminum frame that is incredibly light and compact yet rigid and tough. Additional strength and reliability are provided by the reel's Digigear digitally engineered gear design, which has gears 20 to 40 percent larger than those made by competitors and ensures a perfect mesh between the reel's alloy drive gears and marine bronze pinion gears. These larger gears also give the BG MQ increased power and torque without having to lower overall gear ratio and lose retrieve speed.

Further improvements from the original Daiwa BG design include Daiwa's Automatic Tournament Drag (ATD) that uses an improved drag grease that exhibits a low viscosity at rest, yet becomes more viscous immediately after drag startup. This reduces initial drag start-up inertia and combined with the structural changes of the ATD system results in a smoother drag from the initial hook up. In addition to over strength and rigidity, the one-piece monocoque body means there are no screwed on sideplates that pressure can be unevenly distributed on and saltwater can seep through and corrode the reel.

Available in 10 models, with spools sizes ranging from an inshore saltwater-friendly, petite 2500 size all the way to a massive 200000 size perfect for big game offshore fishing.
