This shows  the complete detail videos and pictures of the internal and external view of the gemstones.This information is more important for gemstone lovers with a mild or fair level of experience in gems and willing to buy gemstones online in eBay.Most common and the universal standard method of gemstones photography to sell online is explained below in detail.

INDOOR DISPLAY OF FACETED STONES:-

Pictures and videos taken in full white background under strong white light to give a brighter white background to show if any other color present in the stone and inclusions.

Eg: Blue Sapphire if there is a yellow line,green line or color dots etc will be easily identified under this particular background and lighting.Or if the inclusion might show as a different color.Very tiny micro bubbles,sometimes silk cloud ,two tones etc is more convenient for buyer to identify and understand the stone very well.Smallest bubbles and feathers may not be visible,is explained in words in the description in the listing of some stones not all.

In the case of very light color stones close to white are taken in different color background with the same white light. 

Eg: very light yellow sapphire, light pink sapphire , some white sapphires. Light color spinels.etc. 

OUTDOOR DISPLAY OF FACETED STONES :-

Taken under natural daylight where no direct sunlight hitting at the stone that shows a clean view without shining to much on the surface of the stone.Photography is taken around 7:30AM to 9:30AM morning hours while the sun is going up.

INDOOR DISPLAY OF  STAR SAPPHIRE ,CAT’S EYE AND STAR SPINEL:-

Stars and the single ray of cat’s eye are visible under phone flash,torch light,sharp spot light,etc.White color version of light is ideal.I hold the light above 7-12 inch over the stone only focusing and hitting sharply right at the stone and where the stone is placed in a lower external light area or no external light area(darker place) in white background.It’s very important for Star Sapphires with color. 

Same applies to cat’s eye ,star spinel and any variety that shows stars and rays.

OUTDOOR DISPLAY OF STAR SAPPHIRE ,CAT’S EYE AND STAR SPINEL:-

I hold the stone under direct sunlight for the stars and the ray of cat’s eye to be visible.Importantly for star sapphires with color.Taken around 9:30AM to 11:30AM morning hours.When the sun is almost up. 

Same applies to cat’s eye,Star spinel and any variety that shows stars and rays.

FEATHERS AND INCLUSIONS DISPLAY :- 

When there is an important feather or any other inclusions to be noted , I take videos and pictures placing the torch light right on to the skin of the stone viewing inside deeply that shows the feathers and the inclusions clearly. 

I use torch with white or yellow light to view inside depending on the stone.

DISPLAY OF ROUGH STONES AND CRYSTAL:- 

Similar to the details mentioned in the display of faceted stones and feathers and inclusions display additional we dip the stone in oil to show more visibility with extra videos and pictures. Stones with complete natural shiny skin need not to be dipped in oil.Measurement pictures are also shown in the listing because of different shapes of the rough.Not so important to take internal view of some roughs depends on the stone. 

DETAILS OF MOVEMENTS:-

While doing the indoor photography in the white background I turn the item to view the other side, and place it on the floor and again I lift it up,this is a sequence of shooting the item.You can see the shadow of the item when the item is lifted up that helps you to understand how it’s done.Same applies to outdoor photography only under direct sunlight for star sapphires,cat’s eye and any variety that shows stars and rays .No shadows for faceted stones and roughs because it’s taken under normal natural daylight. 360 rotation videos are also available for certain stones.
