Here is a rare original  fully working restored  bakelite   AE35  monophone  made by Automatic Electric telephone. There are no cracks or chips in this beautiful working phone which was produced in the 1930s.

The AE35 is a very rare and hard to find telephone. Very few of these were made.

It looks similar to the AE50  which is  a much more  common art deco wall telephone.

I searched for close to 20 years before I got my hands on this pristine example which has had very little use.

The AE35 has no side vents on its casing like the AE50 has   It also features the heavy stylish heavy bakelite AE38 handset with the spitcup mouthpiece. The internals of this working phone ae much different also. The ringer is at the bottom unlike in the AE50 where the ringer is at the top. This is called the Jukebox telephone by many because it looks like an old jukebox.

Its bakelite handset also has very elegant newly plated chrome bands. It has a newly plated chrome fingerwheel and number ring as well as a strikingly beautiful chrome 2 piece plunger

This AE35 monophone is better than new with  a nos Extensi cord  braided handset cord  and a matching black woven cloth  wall cord.  It has a modular plug on the line cord so you will just plug it in and enjoy. This very elegant Art deco phone is very stylish with its curves.

Its bakelite body and handset come  nicely polished.

Its dial has been calibrated and lubricated and there is virtually no wear to the dial or its porcelain dial plate. Inside the phone are 2 nice nickel plated  individually tuned bells that harmonize to deliver a wonderful nostalgic ring that has been since forgotten. Not like your cell phone of today. This is a very reliable workhorse. And its beauty can not be matched.

Thank you for looking.
