ECC808 is a special low distortion, low noise, high gain audio triode. It has electrical characteristics similar to ECC83 or 12AX7 but does not pin out like ECC83 so using in an ECC83 circuit is certainly possible but socket wiring would be different. Adapters are available on the net.
