Standard size chrome postcard shows the Baltimore and Ohio RR's famous Holly Tree by the Tracks at Jackson, Maryland. During the holiday season, railroad employees wore springs of holly from this tree. Every year the B&O's Women's Music Club and Glee Club sing carols to mark the first lighting of the tree for the season. With a thousand sparkling lights, the tree was a landmark for train passengers on the NY-DC run. Photo by A. Aubrey Bodine. Postmarked 1955; good condition.
