Ein wohlhabender Mann genießt ein Glas Wein und seine Pfeife,
letztere wird gerade von einem Jungen entzündet.
Radierung von Antonio Capellan (ca. 1740-1793) nach Domenico Maggiotto
(1712-1794) (Domenico Fedeli, genannt Maggiotto), im frühen Druckzustand,
vor der späteren Verlagsnummer 22 unten li., bei Joseph Wagner (1706-1780)
(auch: Giuseppe Wagner), Venedig, ohne Datum, um 1760/70.
Die Darstellung basiert ursprünglich auf einer Folge von 12 Gemälden
Maggiottos, die dieser 'Capricci fiamminghi' nannte, und die, zumindest
teilweise, aus einer Bewunderung für die flämische u. niederländische
Malerei stammt. (Knox, Piazzetta, 1992, S. 187)

Sehr guter Abdruck auf Bütten mit Rand. Das Blatt angestaubt, li. unten
ein Wasserrand der knapp in die Platte reicht. Eine unscheinbare
Knickfalte, oben im weißen Rand. Sonst schön.

It belongs to a set of 12 paintings which Domenico Maggiotto called
'Flemish caprices' (Capricci fiamminghi), and which do derive, at least
in part, from an admiration for Flemish and Dutch painting.

A very good impression on laid paper with margins around. Sheet with
soiling. A pale water stain in the lower left margin, just affecting the
edge of plate. A negligible fold to upper blank margin, else nice.
