Danvers Half-Long is a fantastic carrot to grow in shallow soils. Near perfect cylindrical roots grow to about 15-18 cm (6-7") in length. With tender reddish-orange skin and a sweet taste, these carrots are the perfect addition to salads, soups, stews or garnish. A high-yielding variety. They store well and are crisp and sweet for eating fresh. They're also highly preferred for canning. For best results, harvest Danvers Half Long when they are between finger size and 2 in. in diameter. Carrot seed can be sown directly into the garden as soon as the soil can be worked in the spring.
