This is a novelty mother of pearl pocket watch stand, probably French, designed with a fouled anchor as rear support. A shell base to hold the watch chain, and a hook for suspension. It measures 12.3cm high, and other than a few small edge chips is in good condition. The ring at the rear is faintly inscribed 'Les Sables D'Olonne', indicating origin.
