"GO CRUISING by the Great White Sisters"
R.M.S. STRATHAIRD
R.M.S. STRATHNAVER

....OF NOTE-WORTHINESS:
Artwork by H.G. Gawthorn 1879-1941 (Henry George Gawthorn, an English Illustrator /Poster artist )
The 2 P&O ships, "Great White Sisters", STRATHAIRD & STRATHAVER are quite a famous duo in this shipping line company's history

A famous artwork, and used on other Travel  Posters of the era for P&O, depicting a man casually resting on a balcony somewhere akin to Palestine, Morocco, Egypt, although this is not a poster size format, it IS ORIGINAL from the 1930s, and is the next best version...interestingly, the cruise information advertised is no where near the Middle East/Nth African regions, but to Papua, leaving Sydney, and also 'contemplated' cruises to Noumea and Tasmania......

This very hard to find, original  ad is a page from a rare Australian magazine publication in 1933.
(Reverse side has a very good art deco looking Elizabeth Arden advertisement)

A single page  advertising in Colour, Commercial Artist / Illustrator drawn (signed lower image..H.G. Gawthorn).

Condition is overall acceptable/ good, with some wear, marks/soiling to surface   ( remember the page is around 75 years old, however this advertisement in nice condition due partly to the higher quality paper stock the magazine used as compared to other publications of the era, it has picked up surface soiling as it was the back cover to the magazine  ). Some marks, light surface creases  wear n tear expected with paper this old. Edges have not been trimmed, staple holes.

The advert is on 1 separate page.

Would make a great display framed.

Approx  Page size 31  x 24.5 cms

thick  magazine weight ( cover),  semi-glossy, higher quality paper stock.

This is an ORIGINAL PAGE/S ADVERT / BROCHURE from the era stated, NOT a reproduction or copy/scan.

Care is taken in photography to show the item in correct colour etc, however differences can occur when viewed on different monitors. There may be some flare/shiny areas as the page photographed may be glossy to varying degrees.
