Kenwood Repair Kit with High Quality Branded Parts

This version of the kit uses modern Metallised Plastic Film capacitors.

Parts included in the kit:

1 x 8 Amp 600 Volt Triac

1 x 0.1uf   ( 100nf ) Metallised Polypropylene Film. X2 Safety Capacitor.  Made by Kemet.
1 x 0.15uf ( 150nf ) Metallised Polypropylene Film. X2 Safety Capacitor.  Made by Kemet.

1 x 56ohm 3 Watt Wirewound Resistor made by Bourns (uprated wattage rating to reduce overheating)

The capacitors may be marked in uF (micro-farads) or nF (nano-farads) depending on the age of the parts, 0.1uf = 100nf, 0.15uf = 150nf.

All parts are sourced from western suppliers, there are no cheap chinese parts in this kit.

If you want to keep with the original parts I also sell a kit with the older style gold coloured Rifa / Evox paper film capacitors .  This is down to personal preference, the modern metallised polypropylene film capacitors are the same specification and perform the same function.  The older style Rifa / Evox do cost more though.  Whether you chose the old or the newer type they are all X2 rated which is important as it means they fail open circuit in case of a fault avoiding damage to other parts and reducing risk of fire, and means they are rated for UK mains voltage.
