Antique James Clews Birmingham JCB Brass Tea pot/kettle w feet, black handle, swan handle

Description   Offering what served originally as a toddy kettle, 'toddy' or 'spirit' refer to the practice of warming liquors in a kettle.  The spout has a classical swan neck design. The handle is fixed  with rivets and solder. The feet are of a drawer pull design. The butt joint is smoothly brazed. The spout is securely soldered to a spigot raised on the kettle body. James Clews Family is considered best in Birmingham England, the home of fine metal ware. It operated 1835-1948. This item is probably turn-of-the-century.
